| Reader's Theatre is a presentation where a literary work is read by a group of individuals. This style allows the readers to focus mostly on the words and characterizations, without the distractions of a full set, props, or costumes. The goal is to bring the script to life for the audience by relying on their characterizations of the written word and to encourage the audience members to use their imagination to envision the staging. Only a few rehearsals are held to allow the readers to familiarize themselves with the work to be presented. |
