Introduction to Stage Acting

• Saturday November 21 9am-12pm
• Youth ages 13-18 $40
• Saturday December 19 9am-12pm (Adults) $40

For beginning actors who want to act on stage either professionally or in a community environment. We will focus on the voice and body, script analysis, and process of the performance-from audition to final performance. Topics include understanding the stage, creating a resume, the Meisner technique, and understanding everyone's role.

Voice and Movement

• Saturday December 19
• 1-4pm for (Youth ages 13-18) $40

We will focus on the actors instrument-using our bodies and vocals to benefit our performance in a long term beneficial way. We will do an extensive vocal and physical warm up that can be used for future auditions and pre-performance warm-ups and much, much more!

About Chelsea Chelsea Cardwell OWNER of Upstream Acting Group AND INSTRUCTOR

Chelsea has her BFA in Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She has worked consistently as a professional actress for 9 years with huge success in over 14 episodes of HBO/Cinemax's Banshee as well as a recurring role on Showtime's Homeland, just to name a few. She can be seen in various national commercials, including Shoney's Restaurants, UPS, and Stanton Optical Eye Wear. She is classically trained in Shakespeare, Meisner, and Stanislavski. She has performed in an off Broadway review in NYC, as well as had multiple back up choice options for large leading roles in major blockbuster films, including Footloose, What to Expect When You Are Expecting, and The Collection.

Chelsea is represented by The Luedtke Agency in New York City, The People Store, in Atlanta, GA, as well as Silver Fox Management in Los Angeles, CA. Chelsea shares management with talents like Mischa Barton (The O.C.), Stacy Dash (Clueless), Lyndie Greenwood (Sleepy Hollow), and Ashley Parker Angel (O-Town).
