Policies and Procedures: Smoking

Purpose

Smoking has become a public issue. Many of our patrons and volunteers have expectations of a smoke free building. The first policy was adopted due to an allergy to cigarette smoke. Subsequently, issues were raised concerning burning cigarettes in the area of our costume storage. Air filters were tried to control the smoke, but proved to be insufficient.

Policies

1. Complete Building considered smoke free 100% of the time. (2/21/96)
2. Smoking integral to the show is not impacted by the policy, although directors are encouraged to not add additional smoking into character elements.
