Williamsburg Players was founded in 1957 debuting with the first production in January 1958 "Teahouse of the August Moon" (directed by Arthur Sircom).

For our first twenty seasons, Williamsburg Players performances were located wherever a venue could be found. Williamsburg Players moved into the current permanent address at 200 Hubbard Lane in September 1977 with the performance space and stage contained within what is now the lobby.
