Purpose
The Williamsburg Players has invested heavily in the electronics
to control light and sound for productions. For the protection of the operator and
equipment, there will be no smoking, eating, or drinking in the booth at any time,
except as specified below. (April 1990).
Policies
-
Those who work in the booth may bring in liquids to drink provided
the liquid is
in a container having a water-tight, screw-on cap.
Other kinds of food and drink are prohibited.
-
During the run of a show (beginning on tech weekend and ending with
the last show in the production), the stage manager or designee shall retain
control of the light booth. This includes who is allowed in the booth,
operating the equipment, who is trained, etc.
- Between shows control of the light booth defaults to the Director
for Production.
- Anyone not assigned to work in the booth should knock and
open the door quietly and carefully, particularly for a
performance.
| |
- During the run of a show, no one (except the light/sound designer
and the light/sound operators for the show) is allowed to make any changes to
any of the lights, placement of microphones, the light/sound
control units, etc., without the permission of the stage manager
or designee.
-
Due to the limited space and ventilation, the booth is not to be considered as an
extra seat for directors, actors, staff, or visitors.
