Media Relations

Purpose

In that the Williamsburg Players (WP) is an all-volunteer organization, in dealing with the media in matters other than reviews of our plays or cast and crew, Board members and staff should defer to the Media Relations designee of the Williamsburg Players.

Policies

The policy of the WP Board of Directors is that by default the President is designated as the Media Relations representative whenever an official voice is required. In the event the President is unavailable for more than 12 hours, the Vice President is designated as the alternative spokesperson. The Board of Directors may change the Media Relations spokesperson or alternate at any regularly scheduled meeting.

No other individual Board member or staff member shall take it upon themselves to act as the spokesperson and should instead defer all questions to the designated spokesperson.
