Highlights

Paris. May of 1794. At the bloody peak of the French Revolution, the actress Marguerite St. Just falls in love with an Englishman, Sir Percival Blakeney. After a whirlwind courtship, the beautiful Marguerite announces their engagement at her final performance at the Comedie Francaise.

Chauvelin, a high-ranking revolutionary, and Marguerite's former lover, is furious. On the night she leaves for England with Percy, Chauvelin blackmails her into giving him information about the Marquis de St. Cyr. Chauvelin uses the information to trap and execute St. Cyr along with scores of innocent French ("Madame Guillotine").

So begins this history-loving musical, full of swashbuckling action adventure, based on Baroness Orczy's classic novel about the battle for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
